The Show

So, we have one week to get this show together.
It's going to be difficult to do in one week, but it's going to be even more difficult to do with a class... I mean, there's no time to be fussing over things. We need to get things done.
We are not going to agree on everything and we can't achieve everyone's idea of an ideal show.
We should however, work together to create the ideal show with our circumstances.
So, if you want to put something in the show, post it on the blog or bring it to class--
we're past the point of ideas and hypothetical notions.... we need tangible work.
Also, I think the broader we interpret the theme "Drought" the more interesting the show will be.
If we choose to look at the theme through a small lens, the less dimensional the show will be.
I'm not saying we should throw a bunch of junk together, but the pieces we choose do not need to be so obviously about drought. I think it's interesting to make the viewer curious about the pieces we chose and to think outside of the box.
We don't want the show to look like it's put on by the DWP water conservation campaign. There's a lot more meaning behind the word.... emotionally, metaphysically, economically, etc.

The word drought: dryness, shortage of supply.
Synonyms: aridity, dearth, deficiency, dehydration, desiccation, dry spell, insufficiency, lack, need, parchedness, rainlessness, scarcity, want

We have a lot to do.
We need to get the work ASAP, because we need to make cards for the show, before the show.
I'm excited.
We can do this.
I hope we're all on the same page.

  1. Love the DWP reference.
    Remember - shovel ready.
I'm working on some new, more reaching options for drought as Mariah has indicated.
Here are a couple more thoughts for anyone - to use or to use as a jumping off point:

drought of ideas (screen shots from fox "news")

drought of culture (our celebrity worship (actors, athletes, ordinary people from reality tv or as another direction shopping as culture)
