Museum of Jurassic Technology
If you haven't been to this museum, you should. Don't research it online - go, explore it & come to your own conclusions. They have limited hours usually on the wknds. Here are a couple tidbits. One of the founders received a Genius Award (MacArthur Fellowship). The Russian samovar tea is an experience in itself.

This museum is located on Venice Boulevard -- walking distance from my work (Culver City Hall). I know because I walked there during lunch one day. It's fun and macabre and scientific and gothic and altogether fascinating. I like how science and art and the age of enlightenment come crashing together.
