Artist, exhibit sponsor face off over abstract nude paintings

Christiana holds two of her paintings that were deemed too “overtly sexual” for public display. She says if they aren’t restored, she’ll take her whole series down.
Of about 70 paintings in artist Christiana's series, two were ordered taken down from public display in Long Beach because the sponsor says some viewers might find the depiction of breasts offensive.

ReplyDeleteSince when are breasts a bad thing? Oh wait, John Ashcroft doesn't like them. Is he on the committee to remove these paintings? Thanks John, for bringing this great attention to LB. Are you trying to steal the art-hating-limelight from Culver City?
How cool does Christiana look? Is it real wind? A rented Hollywood fan?
Shouldn't she be in a paddywagon for further flaunting those two things on a public street?
